Massage & Sports Therapy
What is Massage?
Massage Therapy is one of the oldest known and effective therapies for releasing tension, enducing relaxation, treatment for soft tissue pain and dysfunction within the body. Massage can aid in the flushing of lactic acid and realigning scar tissue post activity, and restoring balance to the muscular-skeletal system.
Massage received regularly can help prevent injuries that might be caused by muscle overuse, which over time can build up muscle tension and may consequently lead to stresses on the joints and associated structures creating further injury and pain. Sports Massage can also be used in Pre and Post event Inter competition environments in addition to being used for general maintenance.
I will work on improving the quality of the soft tissues within the body, increase the blood supply and release muscle tension. My overall approach is to address postural dysfunctions and imbalances found within the body caused by training or everyday activities and work.
I apply a number of massage techniques including deep tissue massage, neuromuscular Technique, Deep Friction, Soft Tissue Release (STR), Muscle Energy Technic (MET) to ensure the best results are met with the minimal discomfort for the client.
Despite its name Sports Massage Therapy can be received by almost anyone regardless of your lifestyle, and you don’t have to be an athlete or be active to suffer from muscular pain or injury!
